About “The koala and the family”

“The koala and the family” is a semi-autobiographical short story. Some parts of it are exaggerated for a more dramatic tone. While others remain intact. This children’s story was inspired by my experiences as an immigrant to the city of Montreal – in addition to the bushfires in Australia – during which Montreal was in the dead of winter.

I wrote this story during my class of Modern Poetry and finished it at home. It was still winter.
