The Montreal City Hall receives its first visitors in 5 years!

Welcome to Montreal City Hall.

Unless you haven’t been to the old port at all in the past 5 years, you didn’t notice that Montreal’s City Hall underwent some renovations. For as long as I’ve lived in this city the building was always obscured behind construction workers, equipment or something else.

So you can imagine my surprise to learn that today, on Saturday 8th of June, 2024, the public was invited to just hang out at the historic building. If my math doesn’t fail me, it is about 200 years old. I mean, we all paid for it with our taxes so I think it is cool that we get to see the end result. But for those of you who weren’t there, either because you didn’t care or didn’t know, here are some photographs I took. Hopefully you’ll be able to visit sometime.
